Seeking a shelter or person able to take in a cat with aggressive behavior, as a housecat or a barn cat. We adopted August from the Animal Care Center of NYC (Manhattan), where she had recently been brought with conflicting stories of owner surrender and street pick up. When she came home, August was sick with a URI and had just been spayed. We took her to the vet twice and gave her medicine, and helped keep her environment consistent and gentle so she could recover.... (read more) She was very sweet to us, and seemed to want affection and like us at that time. After recovering, August's behavior seemed to change suddenly. She became less interested in affection, and she began lashing out at us unprovoked, seeking us out to attack. We personally no longer feel safe cohabitating with her, and we worry whether others will want to adopt her. That said, we do want her to be somewhere happy and healthy.
